Mimi Cymbalista Shmueli is head of community and emergency preparedness at the Israeli Volunteering Council, a well-established infrastructure NGO that aims to maximize collaboration at the local and national levels and across sectors for nationwide volunteer engagement strategies and volunteer infrastructures in Israel. Shmueli worked for 3 years as the family volunteering program manager at JDC Ashalim and was part of the team that managed the Israeli Volunteer Initiative. She has vast experience in volunteer engagement, community development and disaster volunteering and has led all the disaster relief and response programs in recent years at the Volunteering Council. She consults organization on emergency preparedness and community building. She holds an MA in consulting and organizational development and volunteers herself, in her local community as deputy chairman of the PTA at her children's school and as the leader of a community family program that organizes activities once a week.
