Victoria Machar earnestly believes that we must lead all aspects of our lives with humanity. She believes that the most effective way to live responsibly is to first be accountable to yourself, and she has spent the last decade of her personal and professional life helping people and organizations design healthy and empowering practices.
Machar also believes that human engagement and development rooted in dignity and respect is a fundamental need. This work has led Machar to unlearn her internalized disesteem upheld by majority culture. By acknowledging her harm and undoing it at every intersection, she recognizes and contributes to the work of dismantling it for others who look like her.
Machar is the People Operations Specialist at King County Regional Homelessness Authority, Seattle, WA. In her spare time, Machar enjoys singing and songwriting. This is one of her deepest joys, and she believes joy is necessary for this work.
